Summer Night Salon in Phx

It was a beautiful night in Phx. for a salon. The full moon set the tone for featured artists, Tiffinie Greer and Carmen Hess. Located in a lovely Phx. home, guests were invited to view and discuss works of art with Tiffinie, Carmen, and friends.

CHP was honored to be in the same room with Tiffinie and Carmen.  Our suspended cupcake holders were not included at this event. Instead, we featured Nest and Thistle.  Nest was placed in the  main conversation area holding chocolates and crackers.  Having chocolates and crackers within arms reach of the guest, encouraged them to sit, drink, and ponder the alluring works of art.

Thistle was the main feature for the serving table holding key-lime cupcakes. Thistle was the perfect compliment to the pieces by Tiffinie and Carmen. Thank you Paula for hosting such a great event for two incredible artists.

Partying in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

It was a beautiful weekend for a party in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.  The setting:  a clear, sunny day at a beautiful house located on the hills of CA overlooking the ocean.

Ocean View from Patio

Since the view was so breathtaking, we decided not to use the suspended cupcake holders. Instead, we used the tabletop holders.  You are probably thinking they were serving cupcakes at this event, not so.  The holders were used to serve fruit.

The tabletop holders were located at several different conversation areas on the patio.  It was refreshing to have a frosty, cold grape while sipping white wine, looking at the ocean view and talking to your friends and family.  Everyone enjoyed having them at arms reach.

Seating Area

They also made a nice center piece for the main table as people entered the party.  This party was a great opportunity for us to show the variety of foods our holders can display and the versatility of the design by locating them in different areas around the patio. The guests loved the presentation and treats they were holding.  CHP is always thinking of new ways to use our holders and new environments to showcase them.  Please check our news site frequently for more exciting holders and events.

HAPPY 4th of JULY from CHP

Being in the July 4th spirit, we were inspired to create a holiday holder.  Instead of the suspended cupcake holder, we opted to experiment with the tabletop model.  We added a little red, silver, and blue jazz up the holder and the party.

Have a great 4th of July! Enjoy this beautiful summer day with your best friends and family…that’s our plan.

CHP Goes to the Market

The Downtown Phoenix Public Market displays their muffins with Nest.  While we love to install our suspended cupcake holders, our tabletop holder, Nest, is perfect for this environment. This tabletop holder adds a sculptural element to the urban, industrial interior of  the market .  As you see, the holder suspends the muffins above the counter top allowing for more product placement.

The open design of Nest does not obstruct the view of the menu board. The market staff likes that the muffins are not in their work space.  Oh, and they love the design too.

All of our holders are unique, versatile, and beautiful enough to fit in any environment.  The market is just one of many environments we would like to see our holders.  Remember, Ray and I love a challenge.  If you have a specific location, color scheme, or interest we can design and build a holder that fits your style.

We have been going to the weekend farmer’s market, which is held in the parking lot of what is now the Downtown Phoenix Public Market, for years.  Now that the indoor market is open we can go whenever we need fresh, local foods.  The market is a great resource for us downtowners. If you haven’t been by, its a must.  And while you are there, check out our tabletop muffin holder, Nest.

New Tabletop Cupcake/Muffin Holders

We received some very constructive feedback from brides, vendors, and others at the Bridal Fashion Debut.  Everyone loved the suspended holders, but had some concerns about hanging them in their wedding venues. Ray and I have used this valuable feedback to influence the design of our new tabletop cupcake tower. We combine the dried flower holder shapes with a newly designed concrete base.

We show them in a grouping of three holders that hold a total for 40 cakes.  Due to the material choices, the cupcakes appear to be floating even though they are supported by the base.

As always, Ray and I like to take some fun photos of our holders. Here is a series we took this morning to show detail and size.  Thanks to all for the for the great feedback.  Please visit our blog often to see our new designs.

CHP+Bridal Fashion Debut

We had a great day at the Bridal Fashion Debut yesterday . We spent the day meeting other vendors and many fun, beautiful brides, grooms, and friends. We were lucky to have great booth neighbors with multiple show vendor experience.  Their advice on exhibiting at the debut was a great help to us.  It was so fun to watch the expressions on faces when they realized what we were representing.  Many were shocked that cupcakes could actually hang.

2010 Bridal Fashion Debut Booth

We showed five suspended cupcake holders with cupcakes by Designer Cakes by April and images of two tabletop holders.   The support structure for the holders was designed for the booth, but we had so much interest in it, that we are going to work on models that can be used at wedding reception locations.

Now, the real work begins for us. To everyone that helped us with the show,  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.  We could not have done it without you.

First Firday at the Paisley

CHP and friends had another great First Friday at the Paisley Violin.  We were happy to have the opportunity to hang our cupcake holders with the Printmakers of ICON drawing group.  They exhibited several pieces of art from their drawing group and we exhibited ‘Nest’ and the original ‘Dried Flowers’.

Nest is one of our tabletop holders, but looks great as a hanging sculpture too.

Dried Flowers is back where it started. It seemed appropriate to hang the original Dried Flowers in its wedding location.  We have redesigned this holder for AZ rental for parties and weddings. Its colors, while bright, look great in any environment with a variety of cupcake styles and flavors. We are grateful to have wonderful friends that have confidence in us to design something for their special day. Thanks Guys!   And, thanks to all of our great friends who came out to First Friday!

Sneak Peek for Bridal Fashion Debut

Ray and I have been hard at work getting ready for the Bridal Fashion Debut on June 6th.  Today, we were out with Laura Winslow of Laura Winslow Photography taking some beautiful shots for our booth banners.  We will be showing our suspended cupcake holders for weddings in some new fun colors.  Since the Bridal Fashion Debut will be held at the PHX Convention Center, hanging from the ceiling is out of the question. So, we have designed and are in the process of building an ultra mod, metal structure to hold the suspended cupcake holders.  We are looking forward to meeting future brides and wedding vendors. So, if you are planning to be there, drop by our booth and see how we hang.

Fun First Friday @ The Paisley Violin

You, me, and a horse coupled with good food and good music equals great fun at The Paisley Violin.

CHP shared this exciting space with The Family School kingdergarten artists and this compelling horse sculpture by Sarah Hurwitz. Our candies line of holders found perfect hanging spots throughout The Paisley Violin cafe.  The bar offered the perfect place to showcase Bubbles.

Thank you to Gina and Derrick Suarez for having us at their cafe.  We will be hanging at The Paisley next month showing more of our wedding/party holders.  See you on June 4th.

CHP + First Friday

CHP is part of First Friday at the The Paisley Violin this evening.   We have the privilege of showing our Candies suspended cupcake holders with The Family School kindergarten class.  The children at the family school have created some colorful, fun paintings coupled with poems explaining their creations.   We appreciate the opportunity to hang with this great group of young artists.  So, drop by the Paisley and have a cupcake.  Hope to see you there!
